This is a fun post. I love articles that allow me to experience that sense of looking in a mirror, one that shows all the ways in which I’m a complete basket case when it comes to books. So here are ten of the things people might notice about me that mark me as an unapologetic bookworm.
- There are more books in my house than shelves.
- I always have a book with me – these days I have thousands on my phone.
- My bedside table is stacked with books I’m reading and want to read.
- I pause TV shows and movies to see which book a character is reading or which books are lined up on a bookshelf.
- I lose all sense of reality when I enter a bookstore.
- Literature is the only category I get more right than wrong on Jeopardy.
- I can tell you authors or titles of books from most genres – even ones I’ve never read.
- Characters feel as real to me as people.
- All my comfy clothes have something on them about books.
- I spent most of the day today reading books to my 3-year-old. She has heard them so many times she has them memorized, but neither of us cared. We’ll read them a thousand times over as long as we can do it while cuddling!
What about you guys? What makes you stand out as a hopeless book fanatic? Which personality traits or behaviours have the non-bookish folk around you scratching their heads?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
Too true
Right before the coronavirus epidemic closed our libraries and hustled over and checked out nine books. I love my public library. What a bargain. Books for free! I am a book lover
#8 for sure!
I always have books with me too, and one of my biggest regrets about this house is that there’s no space for a bookshelf!
I can definitely relate to 1, 2, 8, and 10! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
I pause TV shows for that exact reason, too!

I loved the time I spent reading to my sons. Perhaps more than they did? Not sure.
