TOP TEN TUESDAY | SPRING 2021 TBR

As always, there’s no chance I’m going to set a TBR and actually stick to it, so consider this just an assortment of books that are currently tickling my fancy!

I’m particularly excited about Hamnet (it’s not my usual type of book, but I’ve heard only great things!), Concrete Rose, Shuggie Bain and The Removed. What about you guys? Do you want to read any of these? Have you already read any? Which books are you most excited to get to this Spring?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

Yeah, I’m kind of expecting that to be the case! I read the first little bit of it, and the tone was definitely not lighthearted. I think it’ll be an important book, though, and I expect it to be well worth the feels and effort! Did you enjoy it, or if that’s the wrong way to put it, were you glad to have read it?

I think you’ve recommended it to me on a previous post, and that recommendation is a large part of why it is showing up on this one! I’ve never read one of his books, so I’m also interested to get to know his style a bit! Thank you!

Yes, I’ve heard nothing but praise for it! I tried to start it a couple of times and never really got hooked, but I think that was a me thing more than the book. I think it’s one that works best if you can sit down and commit to reading the first 50 pages or so in one go, so then you’re really connected to it! I do plan to get back to it – I’m waiting for the audiobook from my library as I’m hoping that might be a good way to re-visit it!

Yeah, you could ask me again tomorrow and it would be an ENTIRELY different list. Not just like one had moved on or off, but a totally different bunch of books. It’s a bit of an issue! I really enjoyed Angie Thomas’s last two books, so I expect this one will be equally impactful!

Yeah – it’s kind of the only way I can do it! I’ve been doing a bit better with follow-through by putting audiobooks on hold at my library, because then there’s a fire under me to star them right away and keep going back to them because I know they’ll be gone in two weeks and it’ll be months before I can get them again!

I actually finished Hamnet this week but forgot to edit this post before it went up. I really enjoyed it – and I had zero interest in the subject matter and am not generally a fan of historical fiction. Definitely worth a shot! I also tried to read The Vanishing Half a couple of times – audio and print. I suspect it was just the wrong time and I didn’t give it enough of a go, so need to go back and try again in earnest!
