I had an amazingly good reading year in 2021. A lot of the rest of the year sucked, but that part worked out okay. So there were more authors I became acquainted with this year that I’m sure I’ll revisit, and some of these books are not favourites.
What about you guys? Which authors did you discover this year? Are you a fan of any of my picks?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
Come to think of it, Emmanuel Acho was a new one for me this year too. I read the middle grade version of this title.
Ooooh, how was that?? I’ve been curious about it but haven’t checked it out yet!
I enjoyed it! I would be interested to read the YA/adult version though.
I love TJ Klune! I have struggled with Novik though.
My Top Ten
I haven’t read any other Klune but am working on getting into his newest release! I think Novik is one I wouldn’t have gotten into if it hadn’t been recommended so highly by a good fried of mine, but I was glad in the end that I gave it a proper try!
I’m excited to read Hamnet, the translation is coming out in my mother tongue soon. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/2021-reading-year-in-review/
Oh excellent! I really hope you enjoy it. It was a pleasant surprise for me!
All are new to me too!!
Thanks for sharing.
It’s great to find new favourites! Thank you for stopping by!
We Are Not Free was one of my favorite reads in 2021!

Oh man, that one is so important! I liked how it was structured and the characters it followed. Totally heartbreaking though!
The Pull of the Stars sure was interesting. I hope it will be made into a film someday after our current pandemic ends. 🙂

YES!!!! I would so watch that. Oh, if only that were something we could count on!
T.J. Klune en Maggie O’Farrell made my list today as well! I still want to read Hamnet though. Naomi Novak is also still on my TBR.
Happy TTT!
Elza Reads
Yay! Which Maggie O’Farrell did you read? Was it good?
Maggie O’Farrel is one of those authors I feel I really should read!
I felt that too! This was the first of hers I had read, and I’m glad I did. Thanks to my mum for recommending it, really!
So many great books here! Hamnet is one of my favourite books ever! And Emma Donoghue is fabulous. Aristotle and Dante is sat on my shelf clamouring to be read right now!
These are my new-to-me authors from last year.
I’m so glad there are some you love on the list! It was interesting starting with Hamnet and The Pull of the Stars as I know that they both have bigger books that came out earlier that I never got to. But somehow these were the right ones for me to pick up!
So glad to see Traci Chee on your list! Such a good book.
Yes! I was so glad I decided to pick that one up!
I loved Aristotle and Dante…I should really look for the sequel. My list this week
Haha! That’s exactly what I was thinking when I was writing the post!
Kline is one of my favorite! Great list!
Mine too now! Thank you!
