TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS I RECENTLY UNHAULED (FREEBIE)

It’s a freebie this week, so I chose to share some of the books I’ve unhauled recently. I’ve been trying to clear off space on my bookshelves (and, let’s face it, in the various stacks of books randomly scattered around my house), so I’ve gotten rid of like 6 full boxes of books in the past month. There were some I meant to read, I heard good things, but they’ve now been sitting on my shelves, untouched, for a very long time. Years, in fact. So I’ve decided to part ways and send them off to a new home, where hopefully they’ll get the love they deserve much sooner than I’d be able to get to them. Here are some of my recent unhauls:

Okay, that’s it for me this week! Have you guys unhauled any books recently? Have you read and loved any of these? Tried to read any and given up (as I did with several)? Share in the comments!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

We’re planning to move which is one of the main reasons for the decluttering. Yeah, it took weeks to slowly go through and choose which I could just about bear parting with. It’s so difficult and takes so much energy. I used to move a lot so there was a natural process for culling, but I’ve been in the same house for a decade now and the result is… well, way too much stuff! Good luck when your turn comes around!

I moved frequently all through college and university, and the moving culled stuff (as well as being perennially broke). But once I settled in one place for a while it started piling up and now I seem to have ended up living somewhere in the midst of piles of books, yarn, stationery, kids toys and cats. I don’t know how it happened, but digging myself out is proving to be challenging! I’m definitely going to be careful about bringing stuff in once I’ve culled and moved! (I’m thoroughly convinced that my stuff – the books in particular – breed like crazy when I’m not looking because I swear there’s always more than there were last time I looked!)

I haven’t read any of these books, but unhauling books always feels so bittersweet. It’s great to help the clutter and to get organized, but I find I usually end up missing those books. I actually told my husband last night that instead of getting rid of books I’m just going to pack them up because I keep regretting it. But that really doesn’t help the clutter.

I completely agree. If I had any storage whatsoever I would do the same thing, but there just isn’t any in my house, so it’s either keep them cluttering up the place or say bye to them. I wish I had a magic house that magically expanded to make room for as many books as I brought in!

Oh man, tell me about it. 9 boxes of books have gone out in the last month or so, and I’m just sick about it. I know it had to be done, and it does feel good to have made space, but still. All those books! Sniff

For Pachinko, I’m definitely looking forward to watching the show. The others are new to me, but I’m all for decluttering! Save space for new goodies to come in. 🙂

I’ve heard really good things about it, I just don’t think I have the patience and focus to stick with it, unfortunately! I might try it at some point, but if I do I’ll just borrow it from the library or try it on audio!
