TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS ABOUT PLACES I’D LIKE TO GO ON VACATION

This week’s prompt was books you’ve read on vacation – bonus if you can tell us where you read them. I’ve got no idea. I haven’t been on vacation in over 7 years. I can’t remember what I had for breakfast. There’s just no way. So instead I’m sharing a few books about places I’d like to visit, and a few books about traveling in general that I loved.

Alright, so that’s it for me this week! What about you guys? Did you have better luck than I did with this week’s prompt?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

    I love your theme!

I struggled with this week as whilst I went away in August I only read 3 books (and only completed one of them!) and before that I went on holiday in 2018. Holidays generally are very busy times with doing things so the chance to read wasn’t there. I think the last time I took a book on a holiday was 2013? So all in all I had to get a bit creative!!

    Have a great week!

Yes, I didn’t think it was perfect, but it did capture some of the feelings I’ve also dealt with when it comes to illness (though of course hers was much more acute and intense than mine, which are chronic and drawn out). I definitely think there’s a lot here for people who’ve never been seriously ill and can’t really imagine what it’s like.

I read Under the Tuscan Sun in high school and it started me off with reading travel memoirs, a genre I’ve loved ever since! I haven’t re-read it in a couple of decades now, so I can’t say for sure if it holds up, but my memories of it are cosy and tinged with orange sunsets and the smell of basil and olives on the air….
