I had so much fun with this prompt. I decided to go with books that have flowers on the cover, and I have to tell you, there are a LOT. There seems to have been a trend a few years back of making dramatic, flower-based cover art, which is both serving me well right now and making me feel very overwhelmed. Look, I have ADHD, so I’m not good at choices at the best of times. It goes something like this. What should I have for breakfast today? Hmm, well, there’s toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt, granola bars… oh my god this is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make…fuck it, I’ll just skip it. So as you might expect, as soon as I started collecting covers with flowers and realized how many they are, I started to panic a little bit. You know how I decided to deal with that feeling? That’s right, I’m simplifying my life and just not making that choice. So you get the lot of them. Either I’m sorry or you’re welcome, depending on how you react to this onslaught.
There you go, an entire library’s worth of books with seasonally-appropriate flowers on the cover. Except for Sadie and the Silver Shoes which only has foliage, but it’s so pretty and I like the book so much that I’m including it anyway. If you have any kids in your life, that whole last row is for you, and they’re all wonderful. Possibly my favourites on this list with the obvious exception of Jenny Lawson, because let’s face it, she wins any room she enters.
Alright, feel free to complain in the comments if that was too much. Alternately you could add to it – I think that would be a lot more fun! What’s your favourite book with flowers on the cover? Is it one of these, or do you have a whole new one to throw into the mix?
