TOP TEN TUESDAY | 2024 BOOKS I MEANT TO READ…

This is one of those post prompts that will inevitably  make me feel a bit bad about all the reading I meant to do last year but didn’t get around to. Hopefully the guilt will have abated by the time you’re reading this (I’m writing it a month in advance since 2024 isn’t going to get any more over), but honestly it’s unlikely. There were some really exciting books that came out in 2024, though, so let’s look at some of them!

I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You by Miranda Hart
The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Into the Uncut Grass by Trevor Noah
Friends of Dorothy by Sandi Toksvig

Sipsworth by Simon Van Booy
The Life Impossible by Matt Haig
Enlightenment by Sarah Perry
James by Percival Everett

Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange
We Solve Murders by Richard Osman
I’ll Just Be Five More Minutes by Emily Farris

I have every intention of reading each of these. Someday. Probably not today. Tomorrow’s not looking very good either. But absolutely soon.

What about you guys? Did you have many 2024 releases you didn’t have time to get to? Do you still plan to read them? Are you disciplined and planning to knock them out quickly so they’re all caught up before you dive into 2025’s reading? Or are they likely to come up on 2025’s end of the year “books I meant to read” list (like mine)?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
