This week’s prompt: Do you have a favorite novel that captures the enchantment of summer nights or has unforgettable moments set under the stars?
That second part of the prompt, “unforgettable moments set under the stars,” instantly made me think of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I read it a while ago, and I don’t really remember it that clearly, but I *think* I remember a night-time scene under the stars. Either way, it is a great summer read. I also enjoy thrillers in the summer – no idea why – so this past week one of my favourite reads was Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. It had me completely hooked and I had trouble pausing it to do real life things! Definitely a great, easy, entertaining read for beach or vacation!
What about you guys? What kind of books do you most enjoy reading in the summer? Do you like light, cosy books? Romance? Or something darker that contrasts to the hot sun?
The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly blog link-up that gives participants a different book-related question to ponder each week, and allows them to share their thoughts, find new blogs to follow and connect with new readers. The Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and is now hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. To see a list of upcoming prompts go here.
Oddly enough, i usually read horror in the summer, and my two top picks for summervibes fell into this category. Although I do believe aristotle and dante are on my tbr list.

I think sometimes it can be great to read books that are the opposite of the season you’re in. I often want to read summer books in winter, and often there’s nothing better than diving into a dark murder mystery (even better if it’s set in the snow) in the middle of a heat wave! So I totally get it! (I can’t read horror though – unless I want to forgo sleep and closing my eyes in the shower for quite some time!)
