BOOK BLOGGER HOP | MY FAVOURITE WINTER READING VIBE

This week’s prompt: In December, many people like snuggling up with a nice book and a warm beverage. What kind of reading environment do you prefer during the winter?

These days most of my reading is done in the format of audiobooks. I read while I’m cleaning, while I’m tidying, while I’m preparing meals or putting away groceries. Reading has become something to do as well as something else, rather than an activity in and of itself. But now that my kid is old enough to read independently, there have been some more moments of quiet reading. So now, I’d say my favourite reading environment is curled up on the sofa or a bed with blankets and pillows and my kid cuddled up next to  me, both absorbed in our own reading worlds. I love the occasional crossover where my kid will show me a page or tell me something from their book, and I find it easier to calm my body to focus on reading when my kid is there with me. And, now that my kid is old enough to do some things alone in the kitchen, cups of tea have become quite prevalent (I’m drinking one right now). It’s wonderful when your kid asks if you’d like a cup of tea, and then ten minutes later brings you a delicious cup made just the way you like it. Mmmmmmm.

What about you guys? Do you have a favourite reading spot? Are you lucky enough to have someone bring  you delicious tea?

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly blog link-up that gives participants a different book-related question to ponder each week, and allows them to share their thoughts, find new blogs to follow and connect with new readers. The Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and is now hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. To see a list of upcoming prompts go here.
