LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

It’s been a busy and stressful week, so I haven’t gotten as much reading done as I normally do. Just one book finished last week. We’ll see if I’m able to get back to it this week or if this is the beginning of a major slump. Could be the latter as there are a lot of things (mostly really stressful) coming up. I’ll try to read something light and see how that goes!

Finished up Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with my kid – now we’re on to the next! I read Eliza and Her Monsters, which I had heard good things about. But it was only okay. Some stuff happened towards the end of the book that seemed odd and didn’t really jive with me. I read Pieces of Her because I watched the show and enjoyed it. Still haven’t decided if I prefer the book or movie. Probably both for different parts.

I’m still chipping away at Travels With My Aunt and Kind of Coping , but I haven’t had much time to read in the past week. I’m reading the next Harry Potter with my kid (we just finished The Chamber of Secrets). This will probably be the last we read until next year as I think they get too dark and scary, so I’m enjoying every word. It’s also my first time reading the illustrated versions, so that’s enjoyable!

Still not sure what I’ll be reading next, but these are a few options.

That’s my last two weeks! What about you guys? What did you read recently? Have you read any of these? Any on your TBR?

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.

How fun to be reading Harry Potter aloud with your child! And good idea to wait a bit for the later books.

Miss Benson’s Beetle was very good, and I definitely recommend it. But Lessons in Chemistry blew me away!! My first book read this year, and I already know it’ll be one of my favorites of 2023. Both books have both heart and a great sense of humor so are probably good if you’re going through stressful times.

    Enjoy your books this week.

It is such an enjoyable experience! I’m not a fan of the author, but I refuse to let that take my enjoyment of the books away, too. They meant too much to me. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed Miss Benson and Lessons so much! I’ve heard great things about both of them, but have been a bit uncertain if they’d be a good fit for me. So your recommendation definitely pushes them up the list for me! I’m pleased to hear that they have heart and humour – two things I always enjoy and am definitely looking for over the next few months! Lots of stress coming up. I hope you have some good reads coming up for you as well!
