LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

This is actually two weeks of reading, because last week was far too nuts for me to take the time to write one. I’m good(ish) at the posts I can schedule, but these Monday ones will be more sporadic because I have to do them live. That said, let’s get into what I’ve been reading lately!

Just shelved:

I finished The Pull of the Stars last week, and Homeland Elegies this week, both on audio. I normally say a little about my reading experience, but I’ve now been given my judging assignment for The BookTube Prize, so I definitely can’t talk about The Pull of the Stars because it’s in my group, and I’m not sure if I’m allowed to discuss books that are up for the prize but not in my group, so to be on the safe side I won’t say anything about either. Sorry! The one thing I can say is that the audiobook performances for both were excellent.

Currently reading:

A Children’s Bible and Real Life are both up for the Prize as well – Real Life is one of my group. The Golden Rule I’m reading because I love Amanda Craig and it was just nominated for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, and that got me pretty excited! I’m still slowly chipping away at Diary of a Somebody, which I’m enjoying even if it does feel like a grown up version of Adrian Mole or Bridget Jones with a male protagonist. It’s set up as a series of journal entries, so it’s a good one to read a few pages of each day rather than straight through.

Up next:

Shuggie Bain is another of my BookTube Prize assignment, I’ve already started it so will be going back to finish it shortly. I’m hoping to find time to read Starlight for my local library’s book club for April. I’ve never read any of Richard Wagamese’s books, but I have always meant to. This was his last book, I think published posthumously, so I’m not sure if it’s one of his best, but I’m looking forward to giving his work a try!

That’s it for this week! Not the most prolific reading update, especially considering this is two weeks’ worth, but there’s a lot going on so I’m just pleased I have managed to read at all. What have you guys been reading? Have you read any of these? I hope your reading week went better than mine!

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.
