I’ve been spending most of my free time out in the garden, digging, pulling weeds, planting seeds, loosening packed earth, potting on seedlings, watering, chatting to the neighbours over the fence and watching fuzzy bee bums as they explore the few flowers that are in bloom. It’s a magical time of year, and the slow return of life outside is always a wonderful reminder that we have the same ability to come back to life after a long, dark winter. So I’m leaning into it, and enjoying every minute!
Just Shelved
I finished a book! I finally did it! I don’t even know how long it has been since I could put a book in this section of my weekly post, but here it is. No idea why this is the one that finally got me to stick with it, but I did it!
Currently Reading
I haven’t read any of the first three this week, but I haven’t decided not to continue any either, so they are still here. I did listen to a chunk of Field Notes this week and I’m enjoying it so far. I don’t know much about birds or birding though, so it’s a little less engaging because I can’t share the excitement of finally seeing a particular bird – I’ve no idea what it is!
Up Next
I am still hoping to finish both of these in due time, but when? I have no idea.
Still have the same books on my possibly TBR-next pile, (virtual and physical), and still not sure what I will get to next. Probably none of these, knowing me!
Okay, so that’s my slightly more productive reading week! What have you guys been reading? Anyone else who’s spending a lot of time in the garden? Anyone planting any interesting plants this year?
A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.
Hurray! I’m so glad you finished a book. It’s a nice feeling for me to finish a book when I feel stymied.
I’m not much of a birder, but I enjoyed Field Notes. I hope the new Amy Tan book about birding comes in for me soon at the library.
Thank you! Yes, it felt good. Even better as I enjoyed the book! I’m not a birder at all, but I do love nature in general and enjoy all the bird and birdcalls around my new home! I’ve looked up a few of them. I’m interested in the new Amy Tan book, so looking forward to hearing what you think!
