My Week On Wednesday is a weekly post in which I share with you what I’ve been reading, what I’m reading next, and any other bookish news that has happened in the past week.
Just shelved:
I finally finished the last of my review books for February (a little late, but it was a busy month!) and have posted a review of One More Thing and will be reviewing The Half Brother this week. One More Thing was awesome and has me feeling much more positive about short story collections. The Half Brother was more of a difficult read for me, as the style and plot weren’t my cup of tea.
Currently reading:
I’m nearly halfway through this one, and I’m really not sure what to make of it yet! On the one hand it is more of a downer than anticipated, but on the other hand I’ve learned a lot about gators.
Next up on the TBR list:
This is always a hard question since I’m such a mood reader! But right now, as I sit here, these are the ones that jump out at me the most.
Cool stuff I came across this week:

Okay, so this one isn’t anything to do with books, but it amused me so much that I just had to share it. You can see why, right?
In other news:
Julianne from Outlandish Lit and I were bored one night last week, so we started reading this book. We’d read a chapter, then chat briefly about our impressions before moving on to the next one. I haven’t ever done this before, but I had so much fun! I think I’m must more into the book than I otherwise would have been, and I’ve enjoyed hearing what someone else thinks as we’re reading. I mean, the whole point behind book blogging is talking to people who have read the same books as me, and this is one step better!
What did you guys get up to this week? Read any good books lately? I’m also considering making this a link-up if there’s interest, so let me know in the comments if you’d be interested in joining in!
I'm cool with gmail chat/email, probably easier than having to limit our thoughts to a number of characters 🙂 I'll DM you my gmail info!

YES! Okay, so I have the book, and the stories seem to vary from about 5 pages to around 30, but most somewhere around 15-20. So I'd say one a day is definitely feasible! Julianne and I chat anyway on Gmail chat, so we just did that. We could do direct messages, or email/gchat if you have those options! Whatever you prefer is totally fine by me. And end of March/early April is great – just let me know whenever you've got time to fit it in! ME TOO!!!
This is my first of her books! There are points where it tips a little Charlaine Harris, but for the most part, I'm enjoying it! Particularly the setting – she does a great job of capturing the feel of the place.

I haven't read a Lisa Jackson book in years; I used to love her!
Yes, definitely! I was thinking like one story per day (or something like that – I don't actually have the book yet, so I'm not sure if that's feasible)… When you and Julianne chatted, did you just do so on twitter, or twitter DM? Haha, I'm new to this! DM might be best, as I do work a varied schedule, and will not always be guaranteed to be around in the moment. I have some books I need to wrap up for the Tournament, but let's shoot for end of March/early April. YES, I'm SO EXCITED!
Started The Fever and so far it's quite odd! About 1/3 of the way through and still not sure if it's going to be paranormal or sci-fi or what!
Want to earmark Almost Famous Women for our buddy read??
Almost Famous Women was a recent add to my list, and The Fever has been on it a minute, so I can't wait to hear how you like them both!
