MY WEEK ON WEDNESDAY | #22

My Week on Wednesday

My last week of reading encompassed Bout of Books, which meant a lot of time spent reading for me! Unfortunately I overdid it and strained my eyes, so I had a few days when I couldn’t read as much as I would have liked, but I still managed to read a respectable number of pages throughout the week, finishing three books towards my Bout of Books total. (If you’d like details on what and how much I read for Bout of Books, check out my post here.)

Just shelved:

Infographic Guide to Literature - Joanna Eliot       Dietland - Sarai Walker

Infographic Guide to Literature was a highly entertaining, really quick read. Not every infographic was of interest to me, but the majority were enlightening and often contained information I didn’t know. Definitely a great coffee table book for book nerds!

Dietland I’ve been chipping away at slowly for nearly a month. It’s an easy read in terms of the plot flow, but one that I found lingered in my mind after I’d put it down. It tackles a lot of important issues we deal with as women – particularly if we don’t fit society’s current concept of “ideal” beauty. I think it’ll take a bit of time for me to fully sort through my thoughts on this one!

Reading now:

The Gold Eaters - Ronald Wright       Wicked and Weird - Rich Terfry       Purity - Jonathan Franzen

I’ve gotten a bit carried away lately and am reading far more books at once than is even remotely reasonable. I’m trying to finish off Wicked and Weird and possibly The Gold Eaters this week (both of which are excellent), and will be taking Purity on vacation with me next week. Purity is fantastic but quite long, so I’m just past halfway.

Up next:

The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend - Katarina Bivald       Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon

I have been saving The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend for my trip because I think it’s going to be the perfect vacation read, and I’ve heard nothing but good things. Everything, Everything is another one I’ve heard amazing reviews of, and the little dip I took into it last night (what? I couldn’t help myself!) confirmed that I’m going to really enjoy it!

That’s it for the past week in books, now it’s your turn! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Share your thoughts in the comments!
