It feels like a while since I wrote a My Week On Wednesday post! I’ve been delaying this one til the last minute because I’m so close to finishing a couple of books that I was hoping to wrap up in time. But alas, I’ve been distracted by real life, so here’s my week as it stands!
Just shelved:
This was a fantastic read, and I’d highly recommend it – particularly if you’re Canadian (or like reading about people from Canada) or enjoy non-fiction that reads like an outlandish adventure story. Definitely unique, and super easy to get into. Check out my full review here.
Currently reading:
I’m nearly finished both Purity and Bream Gives Me Hiccups – I should have both finished by tomorrow night, at the latest. Purity has been well worth the read (my first Franzen) and Bream Gives Me Hiccups will appeal to fans of Eisenberg’s particular brand of humour and is an easy and quick read. I’m prolonging The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend – I should have been finished this weeks ago but I’m just loving it so much that I cannot handle the idea of it being over!
Up next:
I’ve got so many amazing books on my TBR shelf right now I literally don’t know where to start! I’m already partway through both Quicksand and The Gold Eaters, and I cannot wait to start Why Not Me (I haven’t read Kaling’s first book yet, so I’ll probably try to get to that one as well!).
In other news:
I’ve been doing some work on updating the blog (I’m far from finished, but progress has been made). Some of the stuff I’ve been up to:
- I’ve separated out alphabetical lists by title and author in my review section and made sure that all the lists are up-to-date.
- I’m currently working on some new feature graphics, as you may have noticed.
- And finally, I’ve added a whole new upcoming releases section! There are so many amazing new titles hitting shelves every week, and it can be overwhelming trying to keep track. To help me deal with my terrible memory and lack of general organization (and so you guys can benefit as well) I’ve created a list of upcoming releases. You can check out the 2015 upcoming releases page here, and please feel free to send me an email or drop a comment on the page if there are any titles you think should be on the list! Likewise if you have feedback on what might make it easier to navigate – it’s still a work in progress!
That’s it for my week in books. Over to you: What have you been reading? What have you been doing? Share in the comments!
My Week On Wednesday is a weekly post in which I share with you what I’ve been reading, what I’m reading next, and any other bookish stuff I enjoyed in the past week! If you’d like to write your own My Week On Wednesday post, or if you’d just like to share your recent reads, feel free to link or chat in the comments!
