Stacking the Shelves #19

Time to look at the books I added to my shelves this week with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews! Not necessarily books I bought – also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks where I don’t buy books I’ll scramble around my shelves and find some books I haven’t shared in a StS post yet!

1. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac: I fell in love with The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. I went searching for some other books by Gabrielle Zevin and found this one and….
2. Elsewhere.
3. Dear Life, You Suck: This was pegged as being a book with a sarcastic, foul-mouthed protagonist. Of course, that appealed to me.
4. Drawing Amanda: I received this book as a review copy thanks to Hipso Media. I participated in the cover reveal for Drawing Amanda back in March and the book will be coming out next month. I’m looking forward to this one!
5. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian: I’ve heard about this book for ages, and kept meaning to read it. It’s supposed to be excellent, but other than that I’m going in without much in the way of expectations!
6. Prisoner of Night and Fog: I’m a little bit apprehensive about this – it’s going to be an intense read (it’s about the niece of Adolf Hitler – or, as she calls him, Uncle Dolf)!
7. Roomies: I’ve started this one already. I was pretty excited because this one is similarly structured to Will Grayson, Will Grayson – two authors, two characters. So far, however, it’s more juvenile than I was expecting. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I don’t think it’s the best read for adults who enjoy YA.
8. Self-Inflicted Wounds: I read about this on Book Riot – who pegged her as “a devastatingly brainy stand-up comic with a vocabulary that’ll make you weak in the knees.” Definitely sounds worth a read.
9. And Furthermore: I love Judi Dench. I want to be her when I grow up. She’s whip smart, hilarious, wise and totally no bullshit. I have so much respect for her and her career. So I’m definitely excited to read her memoir!
10. The Faith of Graffiti: I’m a HUGE street art fan. It’s one of my passions. I’ve got a couple of shelves of street art books, and I’ve been a fan of Banksy since before anyone even knew who he was. I came across this for a few bucks and just had to pick it up. Definitely looking forward to this read!
11. Mysterious Benedict Society Complete Collection: I have been meaning to read this series for a long time, but hadn’t gotten around to it. Found the box set for less than 20 bucks, so it seemed like the time to give it a try!

That’s me for this week! See any faves? Any you recently picked up? Share in the comments! //<![CDATA[ var sc_project=10144299; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="82f610c9"; var scJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://secure." : "http://www."); document.write("”); //]]>
