Time to look at the books I added to my shelves this week with Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews! Not necessarily books I bought – also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks where I don’t buy books I’ll scramble around my shelves and find some books I haven’t shared in a StS post yet!Â
- Another Life Altogether – Pretty cover!
- The Museum of Intangible Things – Even prettier cover!
- The Dark World – I love this cover too, but it also sounds like it’ll be a bit like the Mortal Instruments series. Something to do with seeing ghosts and fighting demons.
- Then and Always – This is supposed to be kind of like the movie Sliding Doors. A woman gets in an accident and when she wakes up, she’s in someone else’s life.
- A Complicated Kindness – After reading All My Puny Sorrows, Karen and I decided we’d like to read another of her books. Starting with this one.
A couple old ones I dug out and a couple of new ones. So that’s my week in books, what about you guys? //<![CDATA[ var sc_project=10144299; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="82f610c9"; var scJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? Yeah…. no offense, but I wouldn't go NEAR that book. Even for a twoonie (Canadian for $2).

Agreed. Unless it's like really ugly or ridiculous. Like this gem I got for $2: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ceI82Cj5L._SL500_AA300_.jpg
To be fair, though, I haven't read it yet haha.

Me too! I'll buy a book with an ugly cover if I've heard amazing things about it or if it's by an author I love. But I'll never pick one up at random in a store and buy it like I do with attractive covers. Some of my favourite books I discovered because of the covers.

Yeah, it was definitely the cover that did it for me on this one! I think my impression from online book chatter is at around that, so hopefully it'll be closer to a 4 for me!
Thanks – heading over to yours now!

Stop, The Museum of Intangible Things cover is toooo attractive. I love when nice covers make me interested in books I might not have otherwise read (the other side of the judging a book by its cover situation).

Loving The Dark World cover, haven't seen many reviews on it though, I read one the other day and I think it was a 3-4, so it seems pretty okay. Happy reading! 🙂
