I had a fantastic week for books this week. Not only did I get some great books I’ve been dying to get my hands on, but I spent a few days with my cousin who loves books at least as much as I do. We visited two of my favourite local used book stores, and stumbled home under the weight of our amazing book hauls. (We also had cheesecake, which is not relevant but was delicious.) Here’s some of my haul:
The Truth and Other Lies – Sascha Arango
Barbara the Slut and Other People – Lauren Holmes
Believer Book of Writers Talking to Writers – Vendela Vida
The Discomfort Zone – Jonathan Franzen
Gourmet Rhapsody – Muriel Barbery
I also picked up two beautiful, leatherbound editions of Master Humphrey’s Clock Etc. by Charles Dickens and The Three Musketeers – Alexandre Dumas (thanks to my lovely cousin, Sara!). So overall, good week for me!
What about you guys? Find any literary treasure you just couldn’t resist this week? Share in the comments!
Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga’s Reviews that’s all about the books we added to our shelves over the past week. Not necessarily books I bought – also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks I don’t buy any books I’ll scramble around my shelves and find some I haven’t shared in an StS post yet!
BULL MOUNTAIN!!! So good. I also can’t wait to get to Barbara The Slut, as it seems like something I’m going to really love.
It’s largely because of all of you loving Bull Mountain so much that I decided to give it a try. Probably won’t get to it until next month, but I’m looking forward to it! I’m also excited for Barbara.
