Stacking the Shelves

As you guys know, I spent the past week visiting San Francisco. It’s a wonderful city – the people are friendly, the weather is gorgeous, there are plenty of fun tourist things to see and do… and it is home to some of my all-time favourite bookstores. I visited four on this trip (two in Oakland and two in downtown San Francisco), and picked up a few books along the way!

From Walden Pond Books in Oakland:

Under Magnolia - Frances Mayes       The Book Lover - Ali Smith       A Wild Sheep Chase - Haruki Murakami

From Owl & Company in Oakland:

From City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco:

The Receptionist - Janet Groth        What I Talk About When I Talk About Running - Haruki Murakami

I also visited Alexander Book Company in downtown San Francisco (twice), but I purchased cards and bookmarks – no actual books (I couldn’t fit any more in my bags!).

If you’d like to see what these awesome bookstore excursions were like, check out my Instagram, where I posted photos of all of them!

When I got home, I discovered a lovely package waiting for me from Penguin Random House Canada:

Why Not Me - Mindy Kaling

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga’s Reviews that’s all about the books we added to our shelves over the past week. Not necessarily books I bought – also includes books I borrowed, was given or otherwise ended up with. Weeks I don’t buy any books I’ll scramble around my shelves and find some I haven’t shared in an StS post yet!
