There are so many authors I’ve meant to read for years, and just never gotten around to. So this week’s prompt is easy! Here are a few of the ones that come to mind currently.
Luckily, I have two of these authors on my list of books to read for this year’s BookTube Prize Quarterfinals (now underway), so I’ll soon be able to check a couple off my list! Have you guys read any of these authors? Which did you enjoy most?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I’m definitely curious about Richard Osman’s books, I’m always a little wary about celebrities who write books, but I’ve heard good things about it from a friend of mine so I’m going to give it a try!

You know I didn’t even know he was a celebrity!!!! That’s how out of touch I am these days. I Googled after reading your comment and it turns out I’ve watched some of the shows he was involved in, just had no idea he was involved! That’s so crazy. Hopefully he’ll do alright. I know Graham Norton wrote a couple of novels that seemed to go over really well, so maybe there’s hope!
Ha ha fair enough! He does seem to be doing very well so far, so we’ll see how it goes.
Yeah, I feel like his books have been mentioned to me in positive terms by people who aren’t usually fussed about celebs or who are even less likely to know who he is than I was, so hopefully that means there’s actually something there!
Hopefully!
I’d really love to read Elena Ferrante’s books! I only learned of her a couple years ago from my friend who raves about her, somehow she’d totally skipped my notice before
I started My Brilliant Friend but didn’t finish it, so I’m curious to maybe try one of her stand-alone novels and circle back. Most people I know who have read her books loved them!
I hope you love all of these authors when you get to them.
Thank you!
Richard Osman is really good

Thank you! Doer, Osman and Towles are all getting lots of love in the comments! I’ll be reading Doer and Towles in the next couple of months, so I’m excited to see what I think!
I’ve heard such good things about Caste.
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-authors-i-havent-read-but-want-to/
I have started it and put it aside for now, but it’s excellently written. I also watched an interview Jon Steward did on YouTube with her and she is so eloquent and had such intelligent points to make. Really enjoyed her perspective and am looking forward to reading the rest!
Richard Osman’s cosy murders are great!

I’m excited to give them a try!
I read Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God and have been meaning to read more by her ever since. I’ve also read
All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr which I thought was wonderful.
I read the beginning of Their Eyes Were Watching God and loved the writing style. It’s totally unlike any other writing I’ve read before, and has this interesting tone and rhythm to it. I loved it, but got distracted and didn’t finish. I need to go back to it or try another of her books for sure! I didn’t finish All the Light but I keep meaning to – everyone who has read it only seems to have good things to say!
I really like Anthony Doerr, Colson Whitehead, and Amor Towles. All are fantastic choices to start with.
I think this might have been a duplicate comment – I replied to a similar one on my Monday post basically saying that I’ll be reading two of those three in the next 2 months for my BookTube Prize judging, so I definitely will!
