This is going to be a fun one! I’m not a fan of summer, but I do like the idea of summer. So summery book covers are appealing!
Well, now it feels like summer! Here’s hoping we have a mellow, chill, relaxing summer like the vibes in these cover images! What about you guys? Which book has your favourite summery image? Do you have any of mine on your list?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
From your list, I really love the cover for Some Girls Do!
Yes! That might be my favourite of the bunch.
I love the cover of Malibu Rising. I need to read that one.
Me too – on both counts! I haven’t read any Reid other than Daisy Jones. Need to find time to fix that, because I keep hearing great things!
Some lovely covers here!

Thank you!
These covers do give off a chill, laid back kind of vibe. I miss summers like that!

Right? I think that’s what appeals to me because it’s generally not what summer is like for me these days!
Now I want to go swimming! 🙂

Hahaha! You’re welcome?
I don’t like summer. Like you I like the idea, but in reality it is hot and uncomfortable.
I like The Corfu Trilogy by Gerald Durrell cover best. I really enjoyed the TV series and would like to read the books at some point!
Have a great week!

Yup, 100%. I loved the Corfu Trilogy. I think I read the first two books, and loved them (they can be a bit slow here and there, but mostly are magical). I loved the series as well and was very sad when it ended!
I wanted more from the TV series. I have wanted to read the books since I saw it!
Yeah, me too. The books are good, but definitely lean towards descriptions of animals and insects more than the show. You can see the budding naturalist for sure. I liked that, though, as I also find creatures fascinating, but it might slow down a bit in places. That said, there are still hilarious family stories and good character development, so I definitely enjoyed the two I read! Need to go back and read the third one of these days.
That sounds good. I might be able to get on board with that. I suppose the show had to focus on other bits!
Yeah, the show definitely ramped up the drama adding in romantic entanglements and predicaments that I don’t remember being in the book at all! The books are definitely written from Gerard’s perspective, so everything is filtered more through the lens of a young boy who wasn’t all that interested in what humans were getting up to, frankly he preferred to watch a colony of ants for entertainment. I liked that about him!
That sounds cute. Yes, he was very much a background character in the TV show.
Yeah, the books are definitely different!
I agree, I’m also need a big summer person but I love all your choices for this prompt!
My Top Ten!
Thank you!
This is a new title I see from Bill Bryson — Icons of England?! Better go look this up. Loved the covers for Some Girls Do and Italian Ways, both seem awesome for summer road trips.
I can’t remember now, but I think it’s a book he edited that’s various writers writing about England. So I don’t think it’s one of his books, just one he was involved in! I haven’t read it yet, so can’t comment on whether it’s a good read!
Nothing But Blue Sky screams summer. Fun covers. Here is my TTT
Right?? I can’t remember anything about it anymore, but that cover!
Now those are some cool summery covers! And a nice variety of genres and styles. You’re right, this is a really fun theme!

Aw, thanks! I enjoyed pulling this one together. Felt like stepping back into the promise of summer when I was a kid somehow!
