TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKISH PEOPLE I’D LIKE TO MEET

There are so many bookish folks I’d love to meet, have a coffee with, or befriend. People who are wise, interesting, funny or have great taste in books. So I’ve got a bit of a varied list here, everyone from smaller BookTubers to authors. I don’t think about this much, so there are probably a bunch more I could just as easily have included, especially when it comes to BookTubers – it seems like such a fantastic community!

Authors

Bernardine Evaristo

Elamin Abdelmahmoud

Ivan E. Coyote

Isabel Allende

Jenny Lawson

Tracey Thorn

Debbie Tung and Ruby Elliot except we all have anxiety and would probably not at all want to put on real clothes and go out in public, so maybe like an online chat with video optional or something?

BookTubers

Ally from allisonpaiges

Heidi from My Reading Life

Simon Savidge from SavidgeReads and Louise Savidge from LouiseSavidgeMuses

Ashley from Bookish Realm

I’d be thrilled to meet or hang out with any of these, though of course I’d also be crippled by shyness for at least the first half hour! There are so many more literary people I’d be just as excited to meet. What about you guys? Which literary figures would you most love to get to spend some time with? What would you ask them? Are any of my picks also on your list?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

She is so excellent. Her writing has gotten me through some dark times and definitely makes me feel less alone and learn to look for the humour in the worst situations! Oh Ashley is fantastic. I love her videos and her honesty. Great BookTuber!

I always think it’d be really cool to meet some authors but also I know I’d feel so nervous in person and have no idea what to say! I focused on covers for today’s prompt to highlight some cover artists I love

Me too! Plus what if they didn’t live up to their books? No thanks, I’ll just stick with being a reader. That is a fantastic idea! Cover art is so important, and when it’s done right it literally sells the book!
