TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKISH WISHES

I always have a long and ever-growing wishlist of books I’ve heard about online, been told to read, discovered through browsing bookish lists or, in the old days, have come across in a bookshop but didn’t have sufficient cash on hand to purchase. To say that I will never own all the books I want is a massive, massive understatement. So this yearly post is always an interesting exercise in trying to figure out which books I want more than all the others. The list would look different if written a day before or after today, and will most definitely look completely different by next week. Basically, I just love books, and I want all the books.

Of course, a few of these haven’t been released yet. But I figure this is my wishlist, so I can include books I can’t get my hands on for a while! What about you guys? Which books (either backlist, new or not yet released) are you most excited to get your hands on? Have you read any of my picks?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

My mum just read them too! One of the reasons I got read the second and third. I liked them. I didn’t guess everything, I liked that the protagonists aren’t typical, and I really enjoyed spending time with them!

Oh, I read that one and it destroyed me! Paula, I think it was called. I’ve read several of her books – more the magical realism ones – and I love her writing. Not every one of her books hit me with equal force, but the ones I read were all worth the time spent. House of the Spirits is her most famous and very good, though personally I adored Eva Luna and Of Love and Shadows. I hope you do get to her at some point!

The image of the skunk on Quietly Hostile by Samantha Irby made me sit up – I hope those essays match the title theme. And yes, my booklist changes too, almost on a daily basis. 🙂
