This prompt isn’t a particularly hard on, as I’ve been reading for 35 or so years now! There are plenty of books I love that are more than a decade old. Some significantly older! I’ll start with a recent re-read, and go from there!
So there we go! Some of the books I love that are more than a decade old. Obviously, there are so many more! Which of these have you read? Any faves on my list? Which book came to mind immediately when you read the prompt?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I recently read my first Isabel Allende and am looking for more, I’ll have to add this one to the top of the list!
I love Allende. It’s been years since I’ve read her, so I’m not sure if I’d still have the same reaction. But I remember her opening up the world of magical realism to me at exactly the right time in my life, and her books evoked such bright and vibrant images in my head as I read that I was hooked! I hope you keep enjoying her work!
So many wonderful classics on your list! Anne of Green Gables is a favourite of mine. Funny enough, I just read the manga version and it was a wonderful adaptation.
Me too! I have the new graphic novel/manga edition on my bedside table, so it’s great to hear you enjoyed it so much!
I had Matilda on my list this week too! My dad used to read the James Herriot books to me when I was a kid, and I loved them, though I don’t think we ever finished them all, so I may have to rectify that!
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/08/16/top-ten-tuesday-381/
Love Matilda! Ah yes, I remember you saying about your dad! I love the Herriot books but didn’t keep track of which I read. I’ve become further confused by the larger volumes that I think are collections of two or three books, but I really don’t understand how it’s organized or how to figure out where to start or what I’ve read! Ah well, I suppose you really can’t go wrong picking up any of them!
I loved Matilda when I read it. I also enjoyed the film.
Have a great week!

Yes, me too! My kid is a recent convert, so we have been watching the film a lot!
Aww, Matilda is a great choice!
Yes, she is definitely a kindred spirit!
All Creatures Great and Small is one of my favorites! Great list!
Mine as well! Thank you!
You’ve really picked the most landmark coming of age books here! Anne of Green Gables, To kill a mockingbird, Adrian Mole… And the adorable Matilda! <3
I didn’t think of it that way, but you’re right! I recently re-read To Kill a Mockingbird and Matilda is my kid’s new favourite, and they are definitely still just as good!
You have a great selection here today and I have read at least half of these. I should re-read 100 years of solitude. That book has been on my mind so much lately, guess I should just read it again!
Happy TTT!

I keep thinking the same thing! I haven’t read it in decades at this point and have a lovely edition on my shelves. Hopefully I’ll get around to it soon!
