There are so many books I wish I could enjoy again for the first time. To recapture the magic I experienced while immersing myself in to a world that welcomed me with open arms and said, “you belong here.” These are just a few of them.
These are just the ones that came to mind in the time it took to find the cover images. There are so, so many more. I have read and loved countless books, and many of those have somehow worked their way into my mind and changed how it sees the world. I owe such a debt to the books that have helped me learn and grow and see things in a new way, and honestly if I could just relive the reading part, going back to high school might not be all that bad after all.
What about you guys? Which books would you love to experience anew once again? Are any of my picks on your list?

I wish I could have read Matilda for the first time when I was in elementary school…
Check out my TTT
Oh me too! I remember having The Witches read to me in elementary school, and it was deliciously terrifying! I think Matilda came when I was a bit older though.
Matilda was a great read.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I have heard of a few of the authors, but Matilda is the only book I have heard of on your list. My list is here: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/08/top-ten-tuesday-reread-for-first-time.html
Matilda seems to be jumping out at a lot of people this week! I’m not surprised. I think most book lovers are fans!
Great list! I have Uncommon Reader and The Storied Life of AJ Fikry on my TBR. I actually found a copy of Storied Life at the thrift store over the weekend, which made me pretty happy.
When you get the chance, I hope you stop over at my blog and take a read: https://readbakecreate.com/10-books-i-would-love-to-see-as-a-movie/
I love both of those books so much! They make my little book-loving heart feel all warm and fuzzy! I hope you enjoy them.
Ooh yes, I’d love to be able to read Matilda for the first time again, it was one of my favourite books as a kid.

I can’t remember if I read it when I was a kid or when I was an adult, but it is just so lovely! I wanted to be her friend.
Me too!
(I kind of still do…)
🙂
Good Omens is just $3 in Kindle format right now, and it’s a book I’ve always wanted to reread. And I keep meaning to read Born a Crime. What am I waiting for?
I loved Good Omens when I first read it. I have had it pointed out to me that it has problematic elements I don’t remember noticing or didn’t notice when I read it more than a decade ago, though, so that is probably worth mentioning. I did find it hilarious though! I listened to the audiobook of Born a Crime read by Trevor Noah and it was fantastic!
Born a Crime was such a good read!

It so was! I listened to the audiobook and am so glad I did. Even better when he reads it!
None of them are on my list, but The Common Reader and Under the Tuscan Sun are books I could have added too. Loved both of those.
Ah yes! Those are great ones for sure.
The Fault in Our Stars. Yes. Yes. Yes. My list of books I wish I could read again for the first time
I feel like that’s going to be a popular choice!
