TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS I’D LIKE TO FIND UNDER MY TREE

As any book lover knows, there’s really nothing better than finding book-shaped packages under the tree on Christmas morning*. I remember when I was a kid, I loved opening my presents, and I was thrilled by the clothes and jewelry and art supplies and other random thoughtful gifts – but the books would keep me occupied for the rest of the day, long after I’d exhausted my interest in all the other gifts. There was nothing better than poring over each cover, reading every blurb, paging through each one. Sometimes it would be the new installment in a series I adored and I’d dive into it immediately, other times there would be new books to add to my shelf that I could admire and slowly work my way through. But the enjoyment of those gifts far outlasted all the rest. I still feel pretty much the same way. So here are a selection of books I’d be thrilled to find under my tree next Sunday:

.

Of all of these I think I’d be most excited to find My Brother’s Husband Volume 2 (I just finished Volume 1 and loved it), How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water (I read it as an audio galley last year and it was amazing – though I may end up getting the audio version instead), The Africa Trilogy (yes, this exact edition ONLY) and Nightcrawling which has been on my TBR all year.

What about you guys? Which books are you hoping to find under your tree? Did you choose any of my picks? Have you read any of the books I’ve added to my wishlist this year, and if so what did you think?

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and, of course, happy reading!

*Note: I know not everyone reading this celebrates Christmas, so for those who don’t, please feel free to share any other holidays you celebrate and a bit about the traditions you love most. If there’s a present component to them, include any books you’d like to receive, and if there isn’t, feel free to just list the books that are at the top of your more general wishlist right now!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

I keep hearing fantastic things about it, but I’ve never read David Copperfield so I’m missing that context, and it seems long and probably a bit dark. Which doesn’t necessarily rule it out, but also doesn’t have me clamouring for it right now! I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts if you get to it in the near future! Happy New Year!
