TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS ON MY AUTUMN 2019 TBR

We’re finally heading into autumn, and I can’t tell you how relieved I am. I do not fare well in hot weather. I begin to wilt, and if it goes above 30°C I actually melt. It’s not pleasant. So autumn is always a hugely exciting season for me, even if it does bring a lot of rain with it!

This year there are some pretty awesome books coming out in and just before the autumn season, so I’ve decided to just make a list of those (including a few that were on this year’s Booker Prize longlist).

Of these I’m probably most excited about the new Michael Christie – his novel If I Fall, If I Die is an all-time favourite of mine, and I’ve been waiting ever since for a new Christie novel. This book’s premise doesn’t appeal to me much taken at face value, but I love Christie’s writing so much that I’m definitely going to give it a shot and see if it surprises me! I’m also very excited about Bowie’s Bookshelf. I know Bowie was a huge reader (apparently he once shipped his entire library of hundreds of books into the desert to have with him while filming because he didn’t trust anyone he knew to caretake it for him). His list of 100 favourite books is diverse, interesting and more than a little intimidating. I’ve been a huge fan of Bowie for most of my life, so reading about the books that meant something to him is definitely something I’m excited about.

What about you guys? Are any of these on your TBR for the autumn? Are there any here you didn’t know were coming out and are now super excited to pick up? Which other books are you looking forward to reading on rainy days with a cup of steaming tea next to you?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
