TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS [PROBABLY NOT] ON MY SPRING 2022 TBR

Any of you who have been around for a while will be fully expecting what I’m about to say: I never, ever stick to a TBR that doesn’t have an outside component to it. If I’m reading books for something like a book club or prize, I’ll read them because I said I would and I’m required to stick to it. But any time I set a TBR for myself, it goes out the window, usually before I even finish a single book from it. So, as always, these are just a few books I kind of maybe fancy checking out.

So there you go, a list of absolutely fantastic books that definitely deserve to be read that I positively will not pick up this Spring. Exercise in futility, but maybe there’s a book on this list you’ve now been introduced to!

What about you guys? How do you do with TBRs? Do you have a set reading plan for the season? Have you read any of my picks?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

Excellent. I’ve heard great things about both of those, so I’m excited. I haven’t read any of Allende’s books for a few years, but hoping to get to this one as well! I hope you enjoy it when you do get to it!

Yeah, me too. I’m hopefully moving soon, so I’ve been spending a lot of time making excruciating decisions about which books that I haven’t read yet to get rid of – it’s so hard!!

Yeah, that’s a curious one. On the one hand I love Mandel’s writing. Station Eleven and Last Night in Montreal were so great. But the premise doesn’t really appeal to me, so I’m unsure if her writing will draw me in anyway or if I should give it a miss. Waiting to see what others think!

I loved Firekeeper’s Daughter, not so much Under the Whispering Door but I just think T.J. Klune is not for me, because I was also a bit meh over Cerulean Sea which everyone in the whole world seems to love. I’ve ordered myself a fancy indie bookshops copy of Sea of Tranquillity and then forgot about it which is why it’s not on my list this week!

That’s really interesting! I agree, most do seem to like Cerulean (myself included). What did you find difficult about it? I do think some authors just don’t click, and that’s just fine. I can’t even count the number of books that everyone loved and I just didn’t! I’ll be interested to start hearing people’s thoughts on Sea of Tranquility. I’m really torn over it!
