I used to love reading outside in the summer. I’d find a spot where I could have my head in the shade, the rest of me in the sun, use my bag as a pillow and just lose myself in another world while soaking up some vitamin D. I can’t enjoy summers the same way anymore, but one thing I can still look forward to is a great summer reading list! Here’s what’s on my TBR this year.
Releasing in June:
There are some other books I’d like to get to in the summer if I haven’t yet:
Looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me this summer, huh? How about you guys? Which summer releases are you looking forward to? Which books from your TBR are you hoping to get to? Have you read any of my picks (or are you planning to pick them up when release)?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
My husband loved GREENLIGHTS and keeps telling me I need to read it. It sounds like a fun read!
Happy TTT!

I read part of it as an audiobook and enjoyed listening – it’s read by Matthew McConaughey and he’s got such a great voice – but then the book has pictures in it, so either way I felt like I was missing out! Maybe I need to go back to it and listen to the audiobook while flipping through the book? I did enjoy what I read so far, though, so your husband has a point!
I enjoy reading outside in the summer but my hayfever makes it tricky when the pollen levels are high!

Yes, that’s part of my problem as well. I’ve got allergies and asthma, so I can’t really go outside at all in the summer anymore between pollen and air quality. It pretty much sucks. Ah well, it could always be worse, right? At least I can see the sun. Through the trees. And several fences. Lol!
Ah that’s such a shame. Way to look on the bright side though 🙂
You’ve got to, right?
🙂
I own The Other Black Girl and I’m hoping to make it one of my next reads.

Excellent! I just received my copy too, so I’m hoping to get to it soon! (It’s sitting right in front of me as if to say “why aren’t you reading me instead of typing, then?”)
I wonder why my comments still aren’t showing up here…
Hahaha! I used to have instant publishing on comments, but I got a lot of spam for a while so I set it up to need moderation. Your comments aren’t visible on the post until I read and approve them. I try to check once a day and publish and reply, but with mom duty and medical issues, I often get behind, so sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up, unfortunately! But don’t worry, they aren’t lost!
I’m eager to read Malibu Rising and The Other Black Girl. I recommend Ex Libris and Miss Benson’s Beetle.
Me too! I just received my copies, so hopefully I’ll be able to get to them soon! I started Ex Libris and it was going well until I got to The Founders on American Democracy and kind of lost my steam. The good news is that it’s the kind of book you can put down for a few months and then just pick right back up where you were without having to start again, so eventually I’ll finish it! My mum recommended Miss Benson’s Beetle – she read it and then went on to read a few more of Rachel Joyce’s books in quick succession, so it must be good!
anxious people!! yes yes yes please. happy reading!!
Haha! I guess you liked it, then? To you as well!
I just read Malibu Rising, it was quite possibly my most anticipated read of the year! Hope you’ll manage to get to these. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-on-my-summer-2021-tbr/
I’ve only read Daisy Jones and the Six of her books, but I LOVED it. It was unique and unexpected and I couldn’t put it down. I’m a little nervous to try another of her books – can any really live up to that? Did you end up enjoying it? If you’ve read more than one of her books, how did it compare?
Anxious People is a very different story to what I expected. I hope you enjoy it. My Summer reading list
Interesting! I’ve heard it was very good, but not much else. What was the big difference? I’m expecting it to be an entertaining story with a bit of serious stuff woven in. But I really have no idea! Did you like it in the end?
