TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS ON MY WINTER TBR

Top Ten Tuesday - New

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday on The Broke and the Bookish is: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR. This could get seriously out of hand. I wish I could read all ten books at a time, or absorb them by osmosis if I tucked them under my pillow at night!

The Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith - J.K. Rowling       Girl Walks Into A Bar... - Rachel Dratch       Killer Instinct - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

A Thousand Pieces of You – Claudia Gray

Of course, if you ask me again in a week you’ll get an entirely different list! What I don’t have (yet) is a good, solid stack of seasonal reads. I’d love your suggestions of anything Christmassy or wintery or just cosy and fun to read on a cold day with a hot cup of tea and a warm blanket! Share in the comments!

I read about half of Cuckoo's Calling and really enjoyed it – but I got busy then I got distracted, then I kind of forgot who was who and what was happening… so I'm going to start over from the beginning. Which is a bit of a bummer, but I think it'll be worth it. I've mostly heard good things about The Night Circus, and I really liked the first 50 pages or so that I read. Enough to want to keep reading, anyway. It's got a very magical realism vibe, which I like. The writing is evocative and really sets the scene. I'd say give it a try!

I'm so glad to hear it's good! Truth time: I actually just picked it up because I love the cover. I know, I know. But I couldn't help it! Looking forward to it…

    Happy reading right back atcha!

I've heard so many great things about TNC – I also read the first 40 pages or so, and loved the writing. I'm a little iffy on the plot – I've heard some people say it didn't quite live up to their expectations – but I think I'm really going to enjoy it! It's got a magical realism vibe to it that works for me.

Same to you! Isn't it a great time of year to hibernate with a good book?? (Also Harry Potter! I really hope you manage to make it through the rest of the series – and if you haven't already, watch the movies when you're done!)

I started The Cuckoo's Calling TWICE and got about halfway the second time, but I kept getting distracted and putting it aside. Then I couldn't really remember what was happening… so now I have to start over. I really want to finish it and read Silkworm, though, because I was enjoying the writing and really wanted to know what actually happened to her! These are books I own too – some were ones I had in a pile on my desk so I wouldn't forget to include them! I know what you mean – I desperately want to get through some of the books I've had kicking around forever and really feel like I SHOULD have read by now (like TCC and The Night Circus!). Heading over to yours now….

I'm looking forward to it too – it's pretty much the only fun Xmas book on my radar this year! I think I might try to save it a couple more weeks….

I really want to read The Cuckoo's Calling, it sounds wonderful and that cover is really pretty. The Night Circus has been sitting on my TBR for a while now and I still don't know if I should read it or not, I heard some bad things about it which made my enthusiasm for it disappear. A Thousand Pieces of You and My True Love Gave To Me made my list too! I can't wait to finally read those books.
Hope you'll enjoy all of these books! Awesome list!
