This week’s prompt was actually books on previous seasonal TBRs you haven’t read. But I figured, given my inability to stick to TBRs, looking at the books I have read would be a shorter post. So here they are.
How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House was on my Fall 2021 TBR and my Summer 2021 TBR and I just finished it in July 2022. Seven Days In June was on my Summer 2021 TBR and I read it in August 2021. Concrete Rose was on my Summer 2021 TBR and my Spring 2021 TBR and I read it in July 2021. Shuggie Bain was on my Spring 2021 TBR and my Winter 2020 TBR and I read it from April to May 2021.
Hamnet was on my Spring 2021 TBR and I read it in March 2021. The Glass Hotel was on my Spring 2021 TBR and my Spring 2020 TBR and I read it in May 2021. Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race was on my Winter 2020 TBR (though I’d had it in my mind for a lot longer) and I read it in May 2021. Wintering was on my Winter 2020 TBR and I read it February 2021.
Homeland Elegies was on my Fall 2020 TBR and I read it from March to April 2021. Small Island and How to Be an Antiracist were on my Summer 2020 TBR and I read the former in June 2020 and the latter in February 2021. Ducks, Newburyport was on my Winter 2019 TBR and Spring 2020 TBR and I finally read it from April to May 2020.
As you can see, I didn’t often actually get to books the first time (or even the second time) I listed them on my seasonal TBRs. A fair number of these also didn’t get read until I had them on my list for the BookTube Prize, so who knows how many I would have read if not for that! And you can see how far back I had to go in my TBR lists to even find ten I actually read! Oh well, I’ve never claimed to be good at planning ahead with my reading. I’m actually amazed I even read any of them!
What about you guys? Which way round did you tackle this week’s prompt? Did any of you skip it because, like me, you had read almost none of the books on past seasonal TBRs? (I see you!) Share any thoughts on these ones I read in the comments if you’ve read them too!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I like your take on this week’s prompt!

Haha thanks!
I love that your list is ones you have read! I don’t have seasonal TBRs, I just have one massive one, so it would be easier for me to have a short list of ones I’ve read, too.
Stop by and see my top ten list!
Yeah, it took me a lot of frustrating tries to figure this week’s prompt out! In the end this was really the only option. I don’t really do TBRs!
I love that you spun this to ones you have actually read! Good job getting these in. 😉
Thanks! Notice I did have to go back a few years to find enough….. 😉
I definitely have lots of books that have appeared multiple times on my seasonal TBRs before I’ve actually read them!

Oh me too, and most are still there! Ha.
You’ve done well. This year I wanted to read my TBR shelves and have read maybe 1 or 2…still there is still the rest of the year 😂
Have a great week!

To be fair, these definitely weren’t all this year – I had to go back a fair ways to find these, and a chunk of them only got read promptly thanks to judging the BookTube Prize! I’ll never be able to stick with a TBR.
Haha thats ok. I have books from years and years ago…
Oh me too!! Most of them!
One day I will get to them and if not they are great decoration!
Totally! 🙂
I’m so curious about Hamnet!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I was really glad I gave it a try, even though it’s not one I normally would have been attracted to!
I haven’t read Concrete Rose yet. Did you like it?

I’m a big fan of Angie Thomas’ writing, so I did like it. It’s definitely not The Hate U Give, but if you’re interested in the backstory, it’s definitely worth a try. Not quite as powerful, but still has that great rhythm and character development!
I love HAMNET I hope you get to it soon.
Oh this is actually books I HAVE read! Because it was a much shorter list than the books I haven’t read, which is, basically, all of them. (Notice I had to go quite far back to get this many I’ve read!!) I really enjoyed Hamnet as well. I didn’t expect to, as it’s not my usual type of thing, but it was a great surprise! The writing just brought everything to life and it felt like I was actually IN the story, which I rarely experience. Definitely a good one!
