TOP TEN TUESDAY | BOOKS THAT EARNED THE HYPE

So here’s the deal. Today marks about a week of a heatwave in the Pacific Northwest, and right now the temperature is about 30 degrees. Yes, I know, that’s not really that hot, people live in warmer climates all over the world. But I’m not accustomed to it, and it has rendered me completely useless. Plus I spent the afternoon trying to mollify an over-tired and over-heated toddler. I’m not up to my usual spin and formatting. This post is going to be quick and dirty – just the covers, no external links (covers are linked to my reviews), and no explanations. Hopefully I’ll be back on form next week, assuming I have not bubbled away into a puff of steam and dissipated into the distance.

Books I think lived up to their hype:

So that’s it for this week! I’d love to know if you agree with any of my picks, and which you’d like to read that you haven’t already! Share your thoughts in the comments. Hopefully you’re all enjoying summer a little more than I am this week!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

I haven’t read any of those yet, although I keep hearing good things about Under the Tuscan Sun. I might be interested in reading Ready Player One, but I keep hearing conflicting opinions about the book. I’m glad you liked it.

I like the minimalistic formatting of this post! Don’t sell yourself short just because you didn’t have the time to write more. There is definitely a beauty to short, succinct posts.

Anyway, I agree with you about The Fault in Our Stars and Ready Player One–both of them are ranked with my favorite books! I also really need to read The Hate U Give (especially before the movie) and Station Eleven. There are just too many hyped books and so little time!

Since I have read half the books on your list and agree, I think I will read The Martian and Ready Player One this summer. They are both on our Great American Read list from PBS, so I have them on my radar. Thank you for the recommendation.
