This week’s prompt was books that will make you smile, but let’s face it. What we all need right now isn’t a half-hearted little smile. What we need is some raucous belly laughter. So I’ve tried to pick some of the funniest books I have read. These oughta do the trick!
What about you guys? Which books made you laugh out loud? Have you read any of these?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
The Martian is awesome! 🙂
Great picks!

I agree! Just re-read it as an audiobook this summer and it was just as good the second time round. Have you read Project Hail Mary? I was skeptical, but I actually ended up loving it too!
I loved THE UNCOMMON READER! Definitely smile-inducing 🙂
Happy TTT!

Yes!!! It’s one of my all time faves.
Agree, agree, agree. Great list.
Hahaa! Short but sweet!
I’ve not read any of these but I love books that make me laugh. The Percy Jackson books are the first ones that come to mind when I think of books that make me laugh: Percy’s sense of humour is what made me love him as a character!

Oooh that’s good to know! I never got into those, and then I decided I’d leave them for a bit until my kid is old enough for them so I’d have some books to read together for the first time. So we’ll see how that goes, but I’m excited to hear you enjoyed them so much!
Ah I hope you both enjoy them when the time comes!
Thank you!
🙂
The Uncommon Reader is such a little gem! Trevor Noah’s book and The Martian are also quite good. Happy reading! https://readwithstefani.com/ten-books-set-in-magic-schools/
I love all three of those! I just re-read The Martian in the summer, and then devoured Project Hail Mary (which I also loved) in two days.
I have The Uncommon Reader on my TBR. It seems like such a great read.
When you get the chance, I hope you can pop over to my post: https://readbakecreate.com/10-books-with-yellow-covers/
I loved it, and it’s also great because it’s so short that it doesn’t require much commitment!
I have not read any of the books on your list. I have heard of a couple of them. Happy Tuesday!
Haha! Fair enough!
Ooh, what’s Q’s Legacy about? Humor is my favorite antidote, so you’ve just given me a handful of some lovely recs. Thanks for making me smile!!
Helene Hanff is the woman who wrote 84, Charing Cross Road. This book is kind of a memoir about how she came to love reading the books she does (obscure classics, mostly). But she has this irreverent quick wit that I just love. If you enjoyed the book or film of 84, then it’s definitely worth a go!
Born a Crime is a great choice!

I just read it this year and I loved it!
The Martian looks good.
This is our Top Ten Tuesday.
It is so good! I’ve heard some people say the science is a bit heavy, but personally I loved the explanations for how things work and his problem solving process, so that didn’t bother me at all!
