TOP TEN TUESDAY | COMFORT READS

This is a great prompt. I love reading for comfort, and I have so many books that are like old friends I can return to anytime I want, particularly when life is feeling dreary, doom-laden or just plan boring. Here are some of my favourite comfort reads!

There are so many more (for example either of Jenny Lawson’s other books would have worked just as well), but these are either more recent picks of ones I’ve already read and re-read over and over again.

What about you guys? Which books do you come back to when you’re feeling down? Are there any on my list that made yours as well? Any that you now want to check out?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

The Uncommon Reader and The Storied Life of AJ Fikry are two I would gladly reread, and may very well do it soon now that you’ve reminded me of them! Life in Pieces is a new one to me that I’d like to check out.

I re-read The Uncommon Reader a while back and it was a good one for that! I do need to re-read Fikry as most of what I remember now is just the feeling I had from reading it! I enjoyed Life in Pieces. It’s not perfect, but it did have some good things to relate to about parenting during a pandemic!

I feel exactly the same way. The best comfort reads have a setting I can sink into and feel like I’m in, characters who feel like real people and a story that makes me feel and gives me joy. Not that I’m asking for much! 😉
