TOP TEN TUESDAY | FAVOURITE HEROINES

I love books with strong female characters. I love it even more when they push boundaries are live in their weirdness or kick some ass. I like when characters in general surprise me, and that goes double for heroines (self-identified included).

  1. Molly Weasley, because she’s a complete badass and a great mum
  2. The Queen from The Uncommon Reader
  3. Jenny Pepper from Vigilante
  4. Anne from the Anne of Green Gables series
  5. Renée Ballard from Michael Connelly’s books
  6. Evelyn Skinner from Still Life
  7. Matilda from the Roald Dahl book
  8. Starr from The Hate U Give
  9. Veronica Mars from the books and TV series
  10. Miss Marple from Agatha Christie’s mysteries (though I have to admit I’ve only watched the adaptations and haven’t read the books yet… oops)

That’s it for me this week. This was oddly harder than I expected it to be, because while I notice awesome women while I’m reading, I’ve never kept a list or even thought about them in that context before. I’m sure you guys had some great responses for this prompt, so who am I missing? Which heroines do you love?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

I adore her, even more now that I’m a mom. I love how many sides there are to her, and how she’s a loving, soft, cosy mom while also being someone you do NOT want to get on the bad side of! I suppose she’d have to be, raising Fred and George!
