TOP TEN TUESDAY | LGBTQIAP+ LOVE STORIES

Well, it’s that time of year again! Flower shops selling out, chocolate wrappers scattered throughout the entire house, and, Omicron permitting, forced dates going either extremely well or horribly wrong. It’s not a holiday I care much about, but this year I decided to lean into it with a list of LGBTQIAP+ books that are romantic or a bit lovey. Take a look, because this isn’t likely to be a theme here again!

A few I read and would recommend:

Some I haven’t read, but wouldn’t mind giving a try:

That’s it for me! Please add any on theme books you’ve read and enjoyed in the comments because I am no expert and I know I’ve missed a TON! And if you’ve read any of the ones I haven’t read yet, weigh in and let me know if they’re worth a try!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

Love this take on this week’s freebie theme! You and I seem to have read many of the same books, as I have not read a single in your yet-to-read category 🙂 But Aristotle and Dante is one of my go-to tearjerker reads, and I absolutely love the way Becky Albertalli writes teens.

Aw thanks! I definitely agree. A & D was such a pleasant surprise for me – I’d tried to read it once before and just didn’t get into it (no idea why), but this time it was such an instant connection. I wasn’t as big a fan of Leah, but I was still glad it existed out there in the world, both Leah and Simon are the kind of books that, even if I didn’t love them (loved Simon, liked Leah) I’d still give them props because they just need to be there for kids who are looking for these stories!

I’ve read all the books in your first row, but none of the others, so very excited to broaden my list. Have you read Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston?

Me too! I don’t know why I had such a hard time connecting to it last time I tried (years ago), because this time I was instantly drawn in. Very glad I finally got to it. A little nervous about the sequel, tbh!
