My picks for this week are going to be audiobooks – mostly because that’s the only books I’ve bought in the last few months! And, for the first time I think EVER, I didn’t get a single book for Christmas this year! I know, I’m shocked too. So here are my recent audio additions:
Some of these I have already read but want to try the audio (News of a Kidnapping, The Night Before Christmas read by Jeff Bridges and Daisy Jones). Others I want to read and either know I’ll prefer audio or think I’ll get to them faster in this format (Opal and Nev and Tomorrow and Tomorrow). Others I took a chance on pretty much solely because they were on sale and seemed somewhat interesting!
Have you read any of these? Any you’d recommend? Which books did you add to your shelves (virtual or physical) lately?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I read Opal & Nev last year and loved it. I tried Daisy Jones this month and found myself bored so it went to my DNF list.

Interesting! I haven’t tried Opal and Nev yet, but I actually enjoyed Daisy, though perhaps that was because I really expected not to like it, so it was kind of uphill from there! Also I was just in the right mood for it at the time. I can see why it might not have been everyone’s cup of tea though, and it didn’t leave me with an urge to run out and try all of her other books, as I felt like it was a fluke more than anything!
I enjoyed reading Daisy Jones and the Six. I wonder how it is as an audiobook? I also really liked Lessons in Chemistry. I think I listened to it also. Enjoy.
Happy New Year! My TTT post
Yeah, I did too. I did try the audiobook, and the production value is great (it has a full celebrity cast) but I found that my brain had trouble following as it skips between different narrators, so in the end I had to do print. But I want to try audio again someday now that I know the story. I’m interested in Lessons in Chemistry — I keep seeing it pop up all over the place! Happy New Year to you as well!
I’ve read Tomorrow, Daisy Jones, & Lessons – all are good. Of these 3, Lessons might be my fave though Tomorrow is a close second. Whatever order you read them, hope you enjoy.

Interesting! I enjoyed Tomorrow and Daisy, so I need to give Lessons a try. I’ve had like three comments for this post alone saying it’s really good, so that’s definitely moved it up the list!!
I only got one book and it was because I specifically asked for it. Haha. But I love that you got TJR’s book and Lessons in Chemistry. The audio is well done for both.
Yeah, I think I’m moving into that part of life where people just don’t really worry so much about presents for me. Which is fair enough. It’s about the kids at this point. And besides, I can always take advantage of after Christmas sales and buy some for myself (which I did, the new Celeste Ng book and the sequel to My Brother’s Husband, so I’m all set!). Happy New Year!
I haven’t read these (or, in the case of The Night Before Christmas, this specific version) but I hope you enjoy them! They do seem like good picks for audiobook format.

The ones I’ve tried so far I have liked – we did The Night Before Christmas as a family which was great. Jeff Bridges does a wonderful job. And I’ve read Tomorrow x3 already, and I liked it! Fingers crossed that holds for the rest!
I bet Daisy Jones and the Six would be awesome on audiobook! Enjoy!
I’ve heard a lot of good things. It has a full celebrity cast, which I found a bit hard to follow at the time, but now that I’ve read it, I think it’ll be a great re-read in that format! Thank you!
May you enjoy all of them! 🙂

Thank you!
I’m tempted to write a post lambasting those relatives who don’t be-gift a book lover with even a single book at Christmas. That’s just wrong!
Haha! It’s alright, I didn’t specifically ask for any, and I think they all assumed someone else already had it covered! In the end it turned out to be the perfect thing to get myself, so I got two in after Christmas sales that I had my eye one (Celeste Ng’s new one was on sale), so I am appeased. 😉
