As you know, I am hopeless at TBRs. So I’m not saying I will read these before the end of the year, just that there’s a higher chance for these ones than the rest of my millenia-long reading list!
I’m hoping to participate in the BookTube Prize as a judge in 2020, so I’m trying to get a jump on some of the books I think might have a shot at making it onto the list. This includes catching up on a couple of books I’ve never read that could have sequels on the list (and possibly the sequels themselves if I’m really into them):
And here are a few others I think might be on the list that I fancy:
I particularly want to try to get through Ducks, Newburyport because it’s so long that if it shows up in my round of judging, there’s no way I’ll be able to get through it and all five other books in the allotted time while still, you know, sleeping and eating and parenting. I’m hoping to at least get halfway so I’ve got a decent head start! I suspect some of these others I’d be able to do, but might be challenging (particularly Quichotte), so I’m going to try to get at least a hundred pages into a couple of these as well so that they’ll be more manageable if I need to get through them on a clock.
And, of course, a couple of seasonal reads in case I find the time:
Okay, that’s about it for me! There’s no way I’ll get through all of these, but hopefully I’ll manage two or three. What about you guys? Which books are top of your current TBR? Any of you participating in the BookTube Prize and trying to get a jump on 2019 fiction? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I’ve never really had a TBR list, not even back when I read and blogged about books more regularly. I mean, I think I created a few lists once or twice, but abandoned them pretty quickly because I’m 100% impulsive when it comes to checking out/purchasing books. That being said, I kind of want to give the Lord of the Rings trilogy another go. I was OBSESSED with the movies when they released, but I struggled through the books. I’d like to think that I could appreciate them more now that I’m an adult. Plus, I find I’m always drawn to fantasy novels in winter. Cozy hobbits make the book extra appealing, too.
Great list! I really want to get around to reading The Handmaid’s Tale too. 🙂

I hope you can get through some of them! I haven’t read The Handmaid’s Tale even though I’ve wanted to since high school.
Great list! I want to read so many of these but I’ve really had my eye on 10 minutes 38 seconds in this strange world! Saw a really great review of it on IG TV and I knew I had to pick it up soon. Hope you manage to get to some of these this month 😉
My TTT post
I haven’t read any of these, so I can’t tell you if they’re good or not. I hope you love them all, though!
My TTT.
I’m a Cybils Round 1 judge and the reading is a little insane! I wish I’d been smarter and started reading some of the anticipated nominees so that I’d be further ahead in my reading now. Oops! Have fun with your judging.
Happy TTT!

I loved The Testaments! But you may want to read The Handmaid’s Tale first.
My TTT.
I haven’t read The Confession yet either.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I really should read the first Olive Kitterage book, and I haven’t read The Muse by Jesse Burton yet, so… Happy Reading!
