I didn’t have a very impressive reading year, in no small part because I didn’t start reading again until halfway through. This TTT is a slightly harder topic since this asking me to pick a third of the authors I read. So I’m going to start with the ones I would have still picked from a larger pool of the books this year.
In addition to these, I’ve got a stack of books by authors I have only discovered this year that I haven’t been able to read yet. So I’m going to share which are top of this list (I’m only including authors I hadn’t even heard of prior to 2017, not all the authors I haven’t read yet – that list would be HUGE.)
And authors I discovered this year and think I’m going to love, but haven’t read yet:
So those are the authors that have stood out to me in the past year – read and unread. What about you guys? Who have you discovered and added to your auto-buy lists?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.
I havne’t read any of these, so I’ll have to look them up. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
All new to me authors to explore!!
Here’s my TTT post for this week: https://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2018/01/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-new-to-me.html?showComment=1514915871093#c5665488240840941833
I fell in love with Du Maurier a few years ago, and I really need to get reading more of her stuff. Just love the moodiness of Rebecca! I haven’t read Yaa Gyasi or Sarah Perry yet either, but I expect to love them.
THE ESSEX SERPENT is amazing! If you like it, check out Jane Harris, particularly GILLESPIE & I.
Great list! I need to read many of these books this year. I hope to discover many more new authors 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

I’d like to read The Year of Living Danishly, I’ve been reading a few books like that recently. And also Weird Things Customers Say in Bookstores. I bet that one’s hilarious.

You read some excellent books this year. I’ve read Ali Smith in the past, but I haven’t read Autumn. I love the idea that it is a quartet and that it is loosely linked. Maybe I’ll try it today.
Here’s to a great year of reading.

I absolutely love Juno Dawson. It looks like you’ve read some amazing authors this year. Long may it continue!
Those are some lovely covers! The only one I’ve read is THUG, but the others are look worth a closer peek.
