TOP TEN TUESDAY | SERIES I WISH HAD MORE BOOKS

I don’t read that many series, so this is a hard one for me. Made even harder by the fact that I don’t always want more books from the series I do read. So I’ll do my best, but some of these might be a bit of a stretch!

These the only ones I could come up with! And I’m not even entirely sure I want more books from some of them (Call the Midwife was traumatic to read) and one I haven’t finished yet (When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit) but as I love it, I just assume I’ll want more when I’m done. But it’s what I could come up with! What about you guys? Are any of mine on your list? any others you can think of?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Every week TTT has a different topic, and everyone who links up has to create a link of ten items that fit that topic. To see past and upcoming topics, go here.

Interesting selections today. I have one or two of the Midwife books on my Kindle, but naturally, haven’t read them lol. I think I may also have Bookshop on the Corner on there as well. Good reminder to read them!

So many books, never enough time for all of them! Call the Midwife were good – the stories are similar to the TV show but longer and with a lot more (often depressing) detail. Not for the faint of heart, but if you’ve got the stomach for it and are interested in the time, then definitely good. Bookshop on the Corner was cute, but requires some hearty suspension of disbelief (starting with the title – it’s a book van, not a shop, and it MOVES grrrrrr). Good if you’re just looking for something light and easy! 🙂

Harry Potter is the one that came straight to my mind when I saw this prompt. I would gladly read more books set in that world, I love it so much! I adore ANNE OF GREEN GABLES as well. I’ve read the first book many times, but I started reading the sequels last year and just haven’t been as charmed by them as by the first book. I don’t think I’ll keep reading them. As for Call the Midwife, I LOVE the series. I bought the books a couple years ago and still haven’t read them. I need to get on that!

    Happy TTT!

Yeah, I think HP will be top of a lot of lists this week for sure (I do not count the Cursed Child, which I didn’t read because it was just all wrong). I’d love prequels about the parents’ generation and the first battles with Voldemort, as well as future stories! I never finished the Anne series, nor the Rilla series that I think carries on from it. I enjoyed the ones I did read, but for some reason once she’s all grown up I just petered out. I’ve tried a few times and never make it past a certain point! Midwife were a lot like the show, but darker and longer versions of the stories. Good if you’re really interested in that time period, but not for the faint of heart!

Me too on HP! I enjoyed the two Colgan books I’ve read so far, but I feel like a good part of why is the bookish people in them. I know she has some other series, but I feel like without the books it might be a bit too much romancey stuff for me!I need the balance!

What else would you like the see the Anne Shirley books cover? I think it would be cool to jump ahead a few generations and see what her grandchildren were like. Maybe they could even do a DNA test and learn more about her side of the family!

I’d like surrounding stories I think. Like Marilla and Matthew before they met Anne. I think it’s easy to assume they’ve had boring lives, but I’d love to find out that they actually did have some adventures in their younger days (I feel like this was hinted at a bit with Marilla but never explored). I haven’t actually finished the series or read the Rilla books though, so I know there are more I haven’t read yet. For some reason I’ve never been able to make it all the way through! So some of what I’m looking for is probably in there – but definitely I’d love those prequels!
