I think I might have shared this before, but it’s the best I’ve got for amusing and adorable animal imagery. We have a cat called Opie. We adopted him almost by accident. He and his litter had been found in the wall of a house that was being torn down and brought to our vet. We had just adopted another kitten, and while we were in getting her health checks and procedures up to date, our vet suggested that we might be interested in this little guy. He was fuzzy, adorable and just the sweetest thing ever. We agreed to hold him, knowing we really couldn’t adopt another cat. But that was a huge mistake, because as soon as we did so we were goners. The vet said, “just take him home and see. You can always bring him back.” So we agreed. But of course, he was not going back. We named him Opie and he has turned out to be the most lovely cat in the world. He’s patient, gentle, purrs when you walk in the room and is beyond gentle with our quite rambunctious kid. I’ve never been more grateful for an impulse purchase in my life.
What about you guys? Do you have any pets who became part of your family by accident? Any other proud cat parents out there?

All I have to do is hold an animal and I fall for the animal! I long to have a cat again, but mi esposo says No more animals.
Oh I totally get that! I just have to see them and I’m in love, especially with certain animals like cats and dogs and horses… lol
Aww your cat is adorable. I love cats so much. I wish I wasn’t allergic.
He is! Yeah, I have developed allergic asthma in the last five years, and I now can’t have them in my bed or tolerate their kitty litter. Luckily when we moved we were able to find a setup where their litter boxes are outside and they’re only in one area of the house. It’s not perfect, but it means I can tolerate them and we get to keep our beloved kitties! It’s so hard dealing with pet allergies, because they’re so adorable!
