Oh man, this is an interesting one. I have to say I haven’t payed super close attention to siblings in books, so I don’t have a strong thought on this one. So I’m going to list some of the ones that occur to me as I’m thinking it through, in no particular order.
- Cassandra and Rose from I Capture the Castle
- The Weasleys from the Harry Potter books
- Dickon and Martha from The Secret Garden
I don’t necessarily think these are the best siblings in literature, they’re just the ones I can think of. I liked Cassandra and Rose’s relationship because despite being very different people, they tried to support one another and help each other. Despite trying not to talk about the Harry Potter series so much, I can’t help but include the Weasleys here because it’s not their fault their creator is a deeply problematic person, and they’re awesome. I love Martha and Dickon. They are such genuine, wholesome people and their family might not have much, but is so full of love and warmth. They’re the family I wish I were part of.
That’s it for me! I’d love to hear who you chose for this week’s prompt. Did any of my picks make your list? Which (really obvious) siblings did I forget about? Which is your favourite example?

I agree on Cassandra and Rose. I loved that book.
Me too. One of my all time faves!
Loved the Weasleys!
Right??!?!?!
Yes me too!
Good thoughts.
Thanks!
The Weasleys are a good pick!
Feels a bit obvious, but had to include them!
