So there you go, some books that set out to be funny, and some that just ended up that way. I recommend every single one of them if you’re looking for a bit of levity in your life for the remainder of the winter season!
What about you guys? Did anyone else go with funny books rather than quotes? Which book is your top pick? If you did stick to the brief, feel free to drop your favourite quote in the comments – I could use a laugh!

I’ve read a bunch of books lately that ended up bringing me to tears. I’ve wanted to read the Hannah Gadsby book so I am adding it to my reading list. Thanks.
Hopefully in a good way! I’ve not hit tears yet this year, but there have been some feels which is nice! I adore Gadsby. She’s the perfect blend of directness, vulnerability, sharp wit and truth. She’s one of those comedians who I feel I really like as a person and always seem to get a lot from anything she puts out. But probably her memoir is my favourite. I’d definitely recommend the audiobook if you like audio – she reads it herself so it’s excellent!
Those are some great book! Sarah Millican is fantastic. I don’t usually enjoy hearing my own accent on TV (no idea why – just makes me cringe) but Sarah is a breath of fresh air. She makes the accent sound almsot musical. I love Miriam Margolyes, Sandi Toksvig and Bridget Jones as well. You have great taste!
Oh lucky! I wish I’d kept my accent, but I purposely went Canadian when I went to school. I love pretty much all British accents, but Millican’s just feels so warm and melodic to me that I could listen to her all day. Helps that she makes me almost piss myself laughing regularly! Sounds like you also have excellent taste, my friend, let me know if there are any recommendations you have from your part of the world!
