I don’t like doing this, because I love books, I respect the effort an author puts into it, I even like books that don’t have perfect endings or have bits I don’t think worked as well as they could have. So I’m only including two, and I’m doing it under protest. They’re not bad books, but I did feel unsatisfied with the endings. Personal opinion, you absolutely may not agree and I respect that!
I’m okay with ambiguous endings, but this one just left me feeling like okay, then what was actually the point of reading this? We are left with no idea what has happened, no idea what’s going on in the larger world, and no closure in terms of what’s going to happen to these characters. It’s not terrible, but of the books I can think of, it’s the one I found the least satisfying to finish.
I hate to speak ill of one of my favourite literary personas, Sue Townsend, but I have to include this one. I liked the premise, but I didn’t love the execution. I felt like some parts could have been driven home more, and the ending felt like a bit of a cop out.
What about you guys? Were you able to find any books you think should have ended differently this week? Have you read either of these, and if so, do you agree?

With regards to Leave the World Behind, I felt the same way. They didn’t fix it in the adaptation on Netflix either.
They did not.
