WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | DO I BELIEVE IN ALIENS?

I’ve never really had much of a stance on this one. On the one hand, I don’t believe in little humanoid green guys who wander around in flying saucers occasionally popping in to accost someone on a rural highway (shame, really, cos I’d quite like it if there were a Paul out there). But on the other hand, space is pretty big, and by all accounts it’s getting bigger. I know our planet, with its atmosphere and perfect distance from the sun happens to be perfect for sustaining life, but in a universe that’s huge and ever expanding, it can’t be the only one. So yeah, I do think there’s life out there somewhere, but I think it’s too far away for us ever to be able to contact it, and I don’t think it would be anything like what is usually depicted in films.

What about you guys? Do you believe it’s just us, or do you think there’s other life out there? If the latter, where and what do you think it is?

I’m inclined to agree: it seems likely that there’s other life out there, but even if someone has a workable method for interstellar travel, the odds of us encountering each other are pretty slim. My post.

Unless they manage to figure out cryogenic freezing or significantly extend our lifespans… otherwise yeah. Plus, it’s probably a bit of a gamble like meeting someone in real life who you’ve only chatted with online. It could go great, or…. you know?
