Well the super obvious answer to this question would be reading, but fortunately I’ve got a lot of favourite hobbies! Through autumn and winter I enjoy crocheting, playing games with my family, baking occasionally and generally cosying up spending time in soft blankets and doing anything that’s possible from that vantage point. Through Spring and summer I do still enjoy a fair amount of cosy, but I also like to garden and grow things, so I spend a fair amount of time digging around in the garden and admiring flowers and plants as they start to come up! Mostly I like either learning, or doing things that result in something that makes me proud of my part in creating it. That and spending quality time with my family!
What about you guys? What do you love to do, other than reading which I assume to be a given? Anyone else enjoy crocheting or gardening?

You have lots of great hobbies.
Thank you!
I don’t know how to crochet, and I lack the consistency for gardening, but I think they’re both very cool. In addition to reading and writing, I still like climbing and gaming, and I miss doing martial arts. So that’s *my* quick overview!
Crochet I like because it’s quick so I have less time to get bored. I’m feeling a bit defeated about the gardening this year, it’s a lot. I am scared of heights so I haven’t ever done climbing, though my kid enjoyed it! I’m not a gamer, but I kind of wish I was as it looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully you’ll be able to get back into martial arts at some point!
I never learned to knit or crochet, which makes me sad, but not enough to learn at this point. Seems like a lot of this week enjoy cooking and baking. Playing games with family is fun too. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I was lucky because I learned to knit as a kid, and learning crochet now is much easier thanks to YouTube! But I think you have to want to do it enough to put in the effort, not worth it otherwise! Yeah, cooking and baking are great. I’m not very good at it, but occasionally I dabble!
Grandmama taught me how to crochet when I was a kid…I enjoy doing that in the winter (I tend to crochet with heavier yarns these days, though years ago I did a bunch of angels and stars.
My post is here
That’s lovely! Mine crocheted but I didn’t learn from her, I taught myself. I like using thicker yarns because it goes faster and is less fiddly, but I do both as my kid enjoys amigurumi!
I have been trying – and failing – to learn how to crochet! I’m jealous. Hah.
My post
It’s tricky to get started – I had several false starts along the way – but YouTube is a great help I find!
I enjoy baking whenever I get to do it, but gardening is just not for me. I can totally get on board with learning. Constant learning and changing is what makes a person adaptable.
I like baking once in a while! Gardening is on and off for me, this year I’m feeling less enthusiastic about it I think. Last year didn’t go as well as I had hoped! Yes, I agree about learning. It’s one of my favourite things!
You named a few I hadn’t even thought of. I suppose reading is a favorite for many of us.
Reading is always top of my list!
