WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | FAVE THINGS TO DO IN WINTER

Well this is an easy one – I like to curl up under a cosy blanket with a cup of tea (preferably made by my kid who is an excellent tea-maker) and some twinkle lights on and read a book. Of course. But if that’s not an option or if I need a break, I like to bake with my kid, decorate cookies with my kid, colour with my kid, go for a walk with my kid, watch a Christmas film with my kid or have a nap cuddled up on the sofa with my kid. So basically, I like to hang out with my kid doing pleasant, relaxing activities. And my husband, when he’s not busy (he’s much more productive than I am and is getting important things done while we are engaging in said relaxing activities, but will occasionally join us for tea and a bit of a film or a board game). The best ever.

What about you guys? Anyone else just like hanging out with family and doing not very much at all? What in particular do you enjoy?

All of The Nephews (including the nieces) would snuggle up by the fire only after going out in the snow, or if ill…or when the winter weather is merely boring cold rain, rather than interesting snow. I feel similarly. It *is* lovely to curl up by the fire with children and children’s books, though. Once again to enjoy “Hop on Pop”…

I miss our kid being that interested in colouring and baking. He’s 20 now and is “too grown up to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol.” That is what I like to call fighting talk. Too old indeed.

🤣 Them’s fighting words! I’m really hoping that I have the only kid who will never be too old for snuggles and baking and pyjama dance parties and silliness… let me live in that fantasy world just a couple of years longer (I say as I listen to the stomp of angry feet and slamming doors because I asked if hands had been washed….) I guess all us parents need to form little groups so we can club together and do those things when the kids are too old!
