WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | FAVE BOOK AND MOVIE ADAPTATIONS

This is a great prompt, but not so much for me. I don’t watch many movies these days, and I can never remember actors or their names. The best I could come up with was this:

I love The Uncommon Reader. But the only really important casting choice in it is who plays the Queen – and, of course, I’d choose Helen Mirren. I feel like maybe she has already played the Queen, so perhaps not the most original, but there we go.

For bonus since I’m not doing a great job this week, I’m also including some of my favourite book to movie adaptations:

And a couple of TV shows:

Okay, that was my somewhat less than inspired post for this week! I’m sure you guys came up with something better than I did. Which book did you choose? Who would play the main character or top couple of characters?

So did I! I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed on the screen much like my memory of it from the book. I have been told that the book has some issues – I haven’t read it for some time and am sure that things I didn’t notice a decade ago would stand out as problematic now – but that doesn’t stop me remembering the humour fondly and enjoying the show!

I have! I read the book ages before the film, and was so pleased to love both! I haven’t read any of his books since – I’ve heard not great things about them in comparison to the first and worried maybe he was one of those authors that had one really fantastic book and any that came after would be a let down. I’m glad to hear that’s not the case! Is there as much wit in the new one?
