I’m not sure about this one, because at what point does a thing become a treat? At what point an indulgence? And in times like this, isn’t anything that makes the day feel bearable a necessity? But here are some of the things that bring me the most physical enjoyment, and I guess none of them are really necessary? Except chocolate, of course. That’s my main food group.
- Chocolate.
-
Lavender Earl Grey Tea.
-
Fresh Blueberries and Nectarines.
-
An Extra Long Hot Shower.
-
New, Warm, Fur-Lined Socks.
-
A New Hoodie or Sweatshirt.
-
A Signed Book by a Favourite Author.
-
An Extra Hour of Sleep.
-
Re-reading a Favourite Book.
All of these feel like the most indulgent, decadent things to me. You’ll notice a theme of rest, warmth, sweetness and reading. That’s pretty much my wants in a nutshell! I couldn’t pick a favourite one, because every time I tried I came up with a different answer. Arguably, though, number six is close to the top.
What about you guys? Are any of these on your list of indulgences? What is your favourite? Do you consider them to be indulgences?
