WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | NON-BOOKISH HOBBIES

Oh, I have a bunch of these! I don’t do them all very often, but I have lots of things I either still love to do, or used to do when I was younger and wouldn’t mind trying again sometime (some with my kid). I’ll list a few of them:

  1. Gardening. This is one I love doing with my kid, and we’re both excited to have more outdoor space at our new house to plant things in!
  2. Knitting. I haven’t done this one in a while because my shoulder is a mess and it hurts. But I really hope to get back to it, one day I’d love to actually knit a sweater.
  3. Baking. I don’t have time to do this that much anymore, but we have had great fun watching The Great British Bake-Off and trying to make pies. (One was actually pretty good too!)
  4. Colouring. This one is a completely with my kid thing. I don’t like doing it on my own that much. But my kid will set up intricate layouts of colouring supplies and books and we’ll sit together, listening to music, and colouring to our hearts’ content. It’s magic.
  5. And, of course, there’s just hanging with my kid. Reading together, watching movies under a cosy blanket, giggling over silly videos on the internet… whatever it is, it’s pure joy.

What about you guys? Do you have any fun hobbies you want to share? Do you enjoy any of mine?

Yeah, I find if I do it alone I can get a little too perfectionistic about it, which can make me tense up, so it’s good when I’m more focused on my colouring companion than the colouring itself!

Baking and colouring are brilliant hobbies. I used to bake all the time with my Nanna when I was a kid, and I must say, I still colour now when I get the urge. It’s a great way of destressing.

Yes, it’s lovely that you have those memories with your Nanna. That’s a really special connection. And you’re right, colouring can be fantastic, especially if you get an adult colouring book with all the naughty words in it! HA!
